PANAGIOTIS RADOGLOU GRAMMATIKIS
Panagiotis D. Diamantoulakis (SM IEEE) received the Diploma (five years) and PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece, in 2012 and 2017, respectively. Since 2017, he works as a Post-doctoral Fellow in Wireless Communications & Information Processing (WCIP) Group at AUTH and since 2021 he also works as a Post-doctoral Fellow in ITHACA Lab at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece. Moreover, since 2021, he is a visiting Assistant Professor in the Key Lab of Information Coding and Transmission at Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), China. From 2018 to 2020, he also worked as visiting Post-doctoral Researcher in the Key Lab of Information Coding and Transmission at SWJTU and in the Institute for Digital Communications (IDC) of the Telecommunications Laboratory (LNT) at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany. His current research interests include resource allocation in wireless communications, optimization theory and applications in wireless networks and smart grids, game theory, wireless power transfer and optical wireless communications, He is a Working Group Member in the Newfocus COST Action “European Network on Future Generation Optical Wireless Communication Technologies”. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, Physical Communications (Elsevier), and Frontiers in Communications and Networks. He was among the best editors of IEEE Wireless Communications Letters for 2020, as well as an Exemplary Reviewer of IEEE Communications Letters for 2014 and IEEE Transactions on Communications for 2017 and 2019.
Dr. Dimitrios Pliatsios received his diploma degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2016 and his PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece in 2022. Currently, he works as a postdoctoral researcher at the ITHACA Lab, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, in EU-funded research projects and participates in drafting research funding proposals. His research interests include resource allocation in wireless communications and edge computing environments, optimization theory, B5G/6G mobile networks, and computer & network security. He is a member of the IEEE and the Technical Chamber of Greece and he has served as a reviewer in several scientific journals (IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Communication Letters, Elsevier Computer Networks, IEEE Access, MDPI Sensors) and conferences (IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE ICC, IEEE NetSoft, IEEE CAMAD, IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE PIMRC). His PhD research was funded by the Greek State Scholarship Foundation and he has received the 1st Research Excellence Award for the academic year 2020-2021 by the Research Committee of the University of Western Macedonia.

Panagiotis Radoglou-Grammatikis received the Diploma degree (MEng, 5 years) from the Dept. of Informatics and Telecommunications Eng. (now Dept. of Electrical and Computer Eng.), Faculty of Eng., University of Western Macedonia, Greece, in 2016. He is now a PhD candidate in the same department. His main research interests are in the area of cybersecurity and mainly focus on intrusion detection, vulnerability research and applied cryptography. He has published more than 20 research papers in international scientific journals, conferences and book chapters, including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Access, Computer Networks (Elsevier Publishing) and Internet of Things (Elsevier Publishing). Moreover, he has received two Best Paper Awards in IEEE CAMAD 2019 and IEEE CSR 2021, respectively. He has served as a reviewer for several scientific journals and possesses working experience as a security engineer and software developer. Also, he participates in the topic board of Electronics (MDPI Publishing). PANAGIOTIS SARIGIANNIDIS
Prof. Panagiotis Sarigiannidis is the Director of the ITHACA lab (https://ithaca.ece.uowm.gr/), co-founder of the 1st spin-off of the University of Western Macedonia: MetaMind Innovations P.C. (https://metamind.gr), and Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece. He received the B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2001 and 2007, respectively. He has published over 220 papers in international journals, conferences and book chapters, including IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Internet of Things, IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, IEEE Systems Journal, IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine, IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, IEEE/OSA Journal of Lightwave Technology, IEEE Access, and Computer Networks. He has been involved in several national, European and international projects. Stamatia Bibi received the B.Sc. degree in informatics and the Ph.D. degree in software engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2002 and 2008, respectively. She is currently an Assistant Professor in software engineering with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece. Her research interests include software process models, cost estimation, quality assessment, and cloud computing. She is/has participated as an investigator for her university in 7 research and development projects in information and communication technologies with funding from national and international organizations.
Dr. Antonis I. Protopsaltis is a Computer Scientist specializing in Computer Graphics and Computer-Aided Design (CAD). He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Ioannina-Greece in 2010, his M.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science (Software Engineering) and his B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science in 1996 and 1994 respectively at Concordia University in Montreal-Canada. He is a Special Teaching Fellow of Computer Graphics with the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Western Macedonia, Greece. He has conducted research on Geometric Modeling Methods for Reverse Engineering of Scanned Objects using Curves, Surfaces and Discrete Models (triangulations and point clouds), based on Geometric Constraints of Cross-Sections. His research interests are in the areas of Computer Graphics, Geometric Modeling of 3D objects, Reverse Engineering of 3D objects, Computer Aided Design – CAD, Virtual/Augmented Reality, Scientific Visualization, and Computer Vision. He has actively been involved in several Greek or European funded research projects in these areas. He is a reviewer for international scientific journals of high impact.
Dr. Thomas Lagkas is Assistant Professor of the Department of Computer Science of the International Hellenic University. He received his PhD in computer science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2006. He has been Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer of The University of Sheffield International Faculty - CITY College, from 2012 to 2019. He also served as Research Director of the Computer Science Department of CITY College and Leader of the ICT Track of the South-East European Research Centre. His research interests are in the areas of IoT communications and distributed architectures, communication security, wireless communication networks, QoS in medium access control, mobile multimedia communications, power saving/fairness ensure for resource allocation in wireless sensor-cooperative broadband networks as well as in hybrid Fiber-Wireless networks, e-health data monitoring, 5G and beyond systems, flying ad hoc networks, and computer-based educational technologies with more than 90 publications at a number of widely recognized international scientific journals and conferences. He also participates in the Editorial Boards of the IEEE IoT Journal, the Elsevier Computer Networks Journal, the Springer Telecommunication Systems Journal, and the EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking (published by Springer). Moreover, he actively participates in drafting research funding proposals, as well as in the implementation of the corresponding EU projects (namely, ELECTRON, TERMINET, SDN-microSENSE, SmartROOT, JAUNTY, FuseGI, ARRANGE-ICT, et al.)
Vasileios Argyriou received his BSc degree in computer science from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2001 and his MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Surrey, in 2003 and2006, respectively, both in electrical engineering working on registration. From 2001 to 2002, he held a research position at the AIIA Lab, Aristotle University, working on image and video watermarking. He joined the Communications and Signal Processing (CSP) Department, Imperial College, London, in 2007, where he was a Research Fellow working on 3D object reconstruction. Now, he is a Professor at Kingston University, working on computer vision and AI for crowd and human behavior analysis, computer games, entertainment, and medical applications. Also, research is conducted on educational games and on HCI for augmented and virtual reality(AR/VR) systems
Vasileios Vitsas received the B.Sc. degree in elec trical engineering from University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1983, the M.Sc. degree in computer science from University of California, Santa Barbara, CA, USA, in 1986, and the Ph.D. degree in wireless communications from Bournemouth University, U.K., in 2002. His Ph.D. research was in the area of mathematical modeling and optimizing the performance of wireless local area networks. In 1988, he joined the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization where he worked in the field of X.25 packet switching networks. In 1994, he joined the Information Technology Department, Technological Educational Institution of Thessaloniki (TEI-Th), Greece, as a Lecturer in computer networks. In 2003, 2005, and 2009 he became an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor, respectively, with the same department. In 2009, he became Director of the Computer Systems, Security and Networks Lab, Information Technology Department, TEI-Th. He has also served as Head of the Department and Head of the Division, Information Technology Department, TEI-Th.
Dr. George F. Fragulis is a Full Professor in the Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Western Macedonia. His research interests include Mathematical systems and control theory, Analysis and Synthesis of Singular/Descriptor Systems, polynomial descriptions of linear multivariable systems, Machine Learning, Fuzzy Systems, Robotics & Autonomous systems, Robotic Vision, Web programming and Applications. He published over 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences (over 20 IEEE Journal & Conference contributions). He participated in 14(3 as a PI) European (5 Horizon 2020) programs and national R&D projects and serves as a reviewer to over 100 International scientific journals & conferences in his area of expertise. He served as a Program Chairman in fourteen (14) and as a member of the Program Committee in over 30 International Conferences. He is the recipient of the Best Paper Award at the ACM International Conference on Educational Technology, Language and Technical Communication, Fukushima, Japan (ETLTC-2020). He serves as Editor-in-Chief in the International Journal of Entertainment Technology and Management(Inderscience).
Dr. Jyoti Sekhar Banerjee is currently serving as the Head of the Department in the Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) Department at the Bengal Institute of Technology, Kolkata, India. He is also the Professor-in-Charge, R & D and Consultancy Cell & Nodal Officer of the IPR Cell of BIT. Since 2024, he also works as a Remote Researcher in the ITHACA Lab at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece. He is the former Remote Research Fellow of the Cognitive Computing and Brain Informatics Research Group (CCBI) at Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK. Dr. Banerjee did his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Nottingham Trent University, UK, in the Department of Computer Science. He also completed the Post Graduate Diploma in IPR & TBM from MAKAUT, WB. He has teaching and research experience spanning 20 years and completed one IEI funded project. He is a member of the CSI, IEEE, ISTE, IEI, ISOC, IAENG and fellow of IETE. He is present Secretary-cum-Treasurer of the ISTE WB Section and Secretary of the IETE, Kolkata. He is the Immediate Past Secretary of the Computer Society of India, Kolkata Chapter. Kakamoukas Georgios is a Dipl. in Computer and Telecommuncations Engineering, received the Diploma Degree from the Dept. of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Western Macedonia, Greece, in 2013. He fulfilled his MSc studies in Information and Communication Technology in 2015 in the International Hellenic University and now he is a Ph.D student in the field of Flying Adhoc Networks (FANETs) in University of Western Macedonia. His main research interests are in the area of FANET communication protocols, FANET deployment in smart agriculture applications, supervised and unsupervised machine learning and big data analytics as well as edge-fog computing . He has been involved as a research associate of University in European (H2020) as well as National (EDK) projects.
Anna Triantafyllou was born in Ioannina, Greece. She received the Diploma degree (5 years) from the Dept. of Informatics and Telecommunications Eng., University of Western Macedonia, Greece, in 2017. She received a Graduation Excellence Award from the Technical Chamber of Greece in 2018. She is a Ph.D. student in the Dept of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Greece. Her main research interests are in the area of internet of things, communication protocols, and LoRaWAN. Up until now, she has published 11 papers in international journals and conferences, including Wireless communications and mobile computing, MDPI Information, Computer Networks and IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society. Recently she received the award of “Best Communication Systems Paper” in the 9th International Conference on Modern Circuits and Systems Technologies (MOCAST) on Electronics and Communications 2020. Ms Triantafyllou is also a Research Associate in national and European funded research projects in the same University. More specifically, she is currently involved in the Operational Program DIAS: Drone Innovation in saffron Agriculture Surveillance (Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation), as well as in the H2020-SU-DS-2018 (SU-DS04-2018-2020), SDN-microSENSE: SDN-microgrid reSilient Electrical eNergy SystEm.
Mr Athanasios Kotsiopoulos (male) received the diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering in March 2018 from the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh). From July 2018 until April 2019 he fulfilled his military obligations. Since May 2019 he is a PhD candidate on Electrical and Computer Engineering in University of Western Macedonia (UoWM). Since June 2019 he is a Research Assistant for the Information Technologies Institute of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas in Thessaloniki. His research focuses on the areas of Anomaly Detection using Machine Learning techniques, Computer vision, Deep Learning, Industrial Internet of Things, Smart Grids, and Smart Agriculture.

I graduated as a Software Engineer in 2004. Since then, I have worked on several jobs, mainly as a computer programmer or as a system administrator. I obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Systems. During that time, I specialized on different advanced methods of computer programming, databases, algorithm analysis and image processing. Computers and technology have always been my passion. I have good programming skills and I continue to evolve myself and keep up to date with the latest developments through seminar attendance and personal engagement. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and Telecommunications since 2008. She also obtained a Master's degree in Applied Informatics with a specialization in computer systems, and her dissertation was titled "Development of Software for Synchronous-Asynchronous E-Learning Using PHP, HTML, and JavaScript programming languages." Furthermore, she holds a second Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design, which she earned in 2017. Since May 2020, she has been a Php candidate at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Western Macedonia. Her doctoral thesis is titled "Research and Implementation of a Wearable System for Automatic Semantic Language Translation using the Internet of Things (IoT)," under the supervision of Professor George Fragoulis. She has three years of professional experience in web programming, database management, and software development. Additionally, she has been involved in education since 2009, teaching at the University of Western Macedonia and other institutions. Konstantinos Filippos Kollias is a PhD candidate at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, School of Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Greece. He holds an MSc in Psychology, specialisation in Developmental Psychology, University of Maastricht, Netherlands (2019). He also has a BA in Special Education, Educational and Social Policy Department, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece, with GPA 9.24/10 (Hons), ranked 2nd among 141 graduates of the academic year 2017-2018. He is currently working as a special educator at the Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs, KEDASY, Grevena. He is also an adjunct lecturer at School of Health Sciences of the University of Western Macedonia. He worked as a research associate at the European funded research project “Next Generation Smart Interconnected IoT - TERMINET - H2020” (2021-2022). He worked as a Special Educator with people on the Autism Spectrum for a year (2020-2021), as well as during his internship, and volunteer work. In September 2021 he was awarded a fellowship for his PhD research by Bodossaki Foundation. In March 2022 he was awarded a short-term fellowship as an Honorary Research Assistant in the Division of Psychiatry of the University College London (UCL), funded by the British Embassy in Athens and in collaboration with the State Scholarships Foundation and the British Council. I received my bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at Democritus University of Thrace, in Power Systems Sector. My diploma thesis was "Development of a digital library-repository with the use of Dspace software", in the Software and Application Development Sector. I got my master's degree in Mechatronics from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Western Macedonia. My master's thesis was "Fuzzy logic controller for double inverted pendulum on a Cart". Currently, I am a PhD candidate in U.O.W.M. in the research field of "Fuzzy Controllers for Descriptor (Singular) Systems. Application to Robotic Manipulators". I know FORTRAN, C/C++, and Python and I have 15 years experience in Linux/UNIX systems. I, also, know Matlab, Multisim, Autocad, and Solidworks and my areas of interest are Mechatronics, Robotics, and Control Systems. I have worked at the Lignite Center of Western Macedonia as an Analyst-Developer and in Technical Services of Eordaia's Municipality as an Electrical Engineer. Ms Vasiliki Kelli obtained her diploma degree from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Greece, in 2020. Athanasios Liatifis received his Diploma degree (5 years) in ICT Engineering from the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Eng., University of Western Macedonia, Greece, in 2020 with the highest degree score in his year. Ilias Siniosoglou received his Diploma degree (5 years) from the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Eng., University of Western Macedonia, Greece, in 2020. He is now a Ph.D.student in the same department. His main area of research is Deep and Federated Learning on Next Generation IoT platforms, primarily focusing on optimization, deployment and scalability methodologies.

Ioannis Shoinas graduated from the Department of Informatics Engineering at the Technological Educational Institute of West Macedonia in 2016, specializing in Network Engineering. From 2016 to 2019, he worked as a software developer in the private sector. Concurrently, he earned his Master's Degree in Mobile and Web Computing from the International Hellenic University. Since July 2019, he has been employed as a research assistant at the Information and Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Center of Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) in Thessaloniki. As of December 2022, he has been a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Western Macedonia (UoWM). His research focuses on Machine Learning, Federated Learning, and the Internet of Things.
CHRISTOS DALAMAGKAS
Christos Dalamagkas received the Diploma degree (5 years) from the Dept. of Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering (now Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering), Faculty of Engineering, University of Western Macedonia, Greece, in 2017. Since 2018, he is working as research assistant at TSRC/PPC on EU-funded research programmes (SPEAR, SDN-microSENSE). His research interests include optical networks, telecommunications, software-defined networking and cybersecurity. He is certified under the CCNA™ programme since 2019.

Christina Petaloti is a Chemist (AUTH, Greece) holding an MSc in Environmental Chemistry. During the years 2000-2004 she was participating in national research programs, as a member of the Environmental Control Laboratory (Department of Chemistry, AUTH). From 2004-2010 she was working as a Chemist at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Western Macedonia and she has participated in several national and international research programs. She has taught for several years Chemistry/Chemical Technology at the University of Applied Sciences of Western Macedonia as well as at the University of Applied Sciences of Larisa. She has 5 papers at International Conferences and 5 at peer reviewed International journals. Today she works at University of Western Macedonia, as the Head of the International Relations Office.

Chrisanthi Iakovidou is a Project Manager at University of Western Macedonia with 15 years of experience in managing European and National funded Research Programs and in Administrative Management of Supplies and Public Procurements (Upper management level). She received the B.Sc. degree in Business Administration and M.Sc in Applied Informatics (Specialization in Business Computing). Her managerial interests include H2020 projects, Operational Programs (European Structural and Investment Funds of the European Union), Erasmus+ projects, and Interreg projects.

Papageorgiou Nikolaos received the Diploma Degree from the Department of Economic Studies, Aristotle University, Greece, in 2007. He fulfilled his MSc studies in Accounting and Finance in 2009 in the University Of Essex, UK. His main activities are Financial & Administrative Management of Scientific Research Programs (National and European Programs). He has experience in monitoring and implementing European and national programs and has undertaken activities such as Project Management and Coordination, Publicity, Dissemination and Exploitation Plans, Market Analysis Reports, and Entrepreneurship Models
